St. Martin de Porres Catholic School of Guiguinto is a dream-come- true of the parishioners of St. Ildephonse Parish for a relevant and quality education in Guiguinto. Thus, on December 13, 1978, with the approval of the Most Rev. Cirilo R. Almario, Jr.DD, then Bishop of Malolos, a new Catholic School was born with Rev. Fr. Epitacio Castro as the Founding Director, Sr. Maria Pacheco, OP as the first Principal and Mo. Mercedes Llanderal, OP as the first Treasurer. With the valuable support of the Parish Pastoral Council headed by Engr. Pedro-Joaquin, the new school generated enthusiastic and willing cooperation from all sectors in the parish.
Initially, the school was granted permit for Kindergarten and Grade One in 1979 by the Ministry of Education and Culture and subsequently followed by temporary permits for Grades Two to Six in 1980 and 1981. Government Recognition for Kindergarten to Grade Five was granted in 1982 and for Grade Six in 1983.
Realizing the mission of continuing Christian education and formation especially for the youth, the High School Department was established under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Flormonico A. Cadiz as Rector and Sr. Helen G. Castillo, OP as Principal. Eventually in 2012, the four year Secondary Course was given Government Recognition by the Department of Education (DepEd).
The full implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum paved the way for the opening of the Senior High School in 2016 through the combined managerial efforts of Rev. Fr. Reynaldo V. Rivera, School Rector, and Sr. Emelita P. Cruz, O.P., Principal.
The outbreak of the Covid19 pandemic in 2020 ushered the need for paradigm shift in the educational delivery system. The school, through Rev. Fr. Arnold S. Bungay, PhD. School Rector and Mo. Virginia M. Villaluz, OP, School Principal managed the transition by implementing the Online Distance Learning Modality and soon after, the Modular Distance Learning.
As a response to the call for solidarity and charity for the poor and the marginalized, the school partners with the Department of Education and the Local Government to assist needy stakeholders pursue Senior High School with full scholarship. Hence in School Year 2021-2022 with the implementation of the Modular Distance Learning for Senior High School, SMPCS-Guiguinto welcomes learners from public schools, especially graduate of Alternative Learning System
(ALS). Likewise given free Senior High School Education are detainees from Bulacan Provincial Jail, youth in conflict with the law in Bahay Tanglaw in Malolos, Bulacan and learners from poor sectors.
With renewed school mission of serving and educating “the least, the lost and the last,” St. Martin de Porres Catholic School of Guiguinto continues to uphold the evangelizing mission of the Church through education in the faith and the promotion of Gospel values in the entire school and community.
